Would you like carpal tunnel pain relief? And, what's the most common cause of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Trigger points are hyper-irritable (crabby) areas in your muscles or soft tissues that cause pain elsewhere. Trigger points will definitely cause pain, numbness, tingling, weakness and other discomfort in many places in your body. Your carpal tunnel area is one of those "many places."
If an area is simply tight or tender when you press on it, that's not a trigger point. It's just a tender area.
But, when you press on an area, if you can feel sensation elsewhere--especially somewhere that has been bothering you--that's a trigger point. It's "triggering" a symptom.
That's what trigger points do: they cause symptoms.
How can you get rid of trigger points? You have a couple of options.
1. You can go to a professional massage therapist who knows about trigger points and carpal tunnel pain relief. You can find an article about how to find a massage therapist who can really make a difference for you if you go to the "Categories" here and open the "Massage" link.
2. You can do your own trigger point release. This can be pretty easy if you know where to look for your trigger points and if you know how to release them. You can scroll through the 'Categories' here and open the 'Massage' link to find articles on self-help massage.
If you'd like to learn how to do your own trigger point massage, I highly recommend this book by Clair Davies. Mr. Davies did an excellent job of explaining trigger points, how to find them and how you, yourself, can "treat" them. If you click on the photo of his book, below, it will take you right to Amazon.com and you will be able to "look inside" the book.
